No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference

Greta Thunberg

‘Everything needs to change. And it has to start today’
In August 2018 a fifteen-year-old Swedish girl, Greta Thunberg, decided not to go to school one day. Her actions ended up sparking a global movement for action against the climate crisis, inspiring millions of pupils to go on strike for our planet, forcing governments to listen, and earning her a Nobel Peace Prize nomination.

This book brings you Greta in her own words, for the first time. Collecting her speeches that have made history across Europe, from the UN to mass street protests, No One Is Too Small to Make A Difference is a rallying cry for why we must all wake up and fight to protect the living planet, no matter how powerless we feel. Our future depends upon it.

Over the past year there’s only one person who has gained more column inches and posts on the internet than Donald Trump. That is the climate emergency campaigner, Greta Thunberg. Luckily these aren’t words designed to hate and push us apart, but alert us to the biggest threat to this earth ever, the climate emergency.

Greta’s story goes back to last year when she became alarmed by the scientists who were saying the world had two years to radically change the way we deal with carbon emissions or the world would be irreparably damaged. She decided that every Friday she would sit outside the Swedish parliament on a climate strike from school. Nearly a year on her message and strike have spread all over the world as the young stand up for our planet.

Her speeches, contained in this book, show a remarkable person who firm grasp of the subject and wants to stick her head above the parapet and inform the world. They include her famous messages to the rich at Davros, the UN climate conference in Poland. Her message is clear, governments don’t have years to get their act together, we must stop our reliance on fossil fuels. Her voice carries because of the passion you hear in it. She truly believes and is frightened by the fact.

There’s criticism that some of the points are repeated in each speech, yet the world needs to hear this message again and again. Politicians and business aren’t listening. The school strikes have spread all over the world as the young find their voice passionately. This is a book you all have to read. Greta has started the discussion. As a world, as a generation we need to listen and follow these words.

I could only give 100% to this book. A brilliant set of thoughts to ponder and act on NOW.
